Zavkhan Province, in the western of region of Mongolia, has an amazing nature composed of triple regions - the steppe, the desert and the mountainous areas. Various natural wonders include: Ulaagchin Lake, Terkhiin White Lake, Dayan Mountain (famous for snow lotus) and Otgontenger Mountain (4008 meters above the sea level).
The Otgontenger mountain is worshiped by Mongolians, drawing both foreign and domestic tourists. With one of the most extreme climates in Mongolia, this is a wonderful area for Adventure Tourism. The name literally translates to “The Youngest Sky”, and it is both the highest and the only peak in the Khangai range with a permanent glacier.
Aside from having livestock in massive numbers, Zavkhan province is diverse with its wildlife. Such as wild boars, Mongolian wild ass (khulans), spotted deers, wild goats, Eurasian lynxes, Mongolian wolves, and Gobi bears to the gloriful birds such as hawks, vultures, falcons to even rarer snowcocks and bobwhites.
