Western Mongolia consists of Uvs, Khovd and Bayan-Olgii provinces. The wonders of the western region are its high mountain ranges with snow-capped peaks, glaciers and rock canyons, quick flowing rivers and clear water lakes.
The Mongol Altai Mountain Range, whose peaks can reach over 4000 meters above sea level, stretches 900 km from the northwest to the south through the territories of Bayan-Olgii and Khovd provinces. The highest point of the range is Khuiten Peak of Tavan Bogd Mountain, is 4374 meters high and located at the junction of the Mongolian, Russian and Chinese borders.
