Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Altai Tavan Bogd (Five Sacred Mountains) National Park is largest National Park in Mongolia, it occupies 636.161 hectares of territory. It contains the five highest snow capped mountain peaks of the Altai Range, such as  Khuiten peak (4374 meters), Nairamdal peak (4192 meters), Burged peak (4068 meters), Malchin peak (4051 meters), Olgii peak (4050 meters) and many other stunning mountains and lakes such as Khurgan, Khoton and Dayan lake. The Khuiten Peak is surrounded by Potanin glaciers covered with ever melting snow. The park is inhabited by many rare species of wildlife, including argali (wild sheep), Siberian ibex, Maral deer and elk. Besides these natural attractions, the park has many archaeological sites and petrogliphes and Turkic stone figure and deer stones. The Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is lying at in altitude 3000 meters above sea level.
