The famous boundless steppe and grasslands are all dominantly located in the eastern region of Mongolia. The ever so wide grasslands and steppe stretch across eastern Mongolia from the Khentii Mountain range to the eastern border of Russia and China. Provinces of Sukhbaatar, Khentii and Dornod are all located on the eastern region of Mongolia.

The ever so beautiful rivers of Kherlen and Khalkha run through this region. The historical monuments to the Great Chinggis Khaan are vast here, because the Dadal souma of Khentii province is his birthplace. There is also a monument dedicated to the battle of Khalkha gol (A battle where Mongolia and Soviet Russia’s conjoined forces repelled Japanese army advances). The region is renowned for its large number of white and black tailed gazelles, as well as many rare species of cranes.
