Kazakhs in Mongolia: Hunting with eagle

Bayan-Olgii province is home of the Kazakh ethnic group. The Kazakhs are the second largest ethnic group in Mongolia after the Khalkhs, with 101,000 people comprising 5% of the population. Kazakhs have their own language and customs, and almost the entire population are Muslims. Kazakhs are famous by their embroideries. You can see their unique embroideries on their clothes and in home furnishings, and accessories. Hunting with eagle is ancient tradition of Kazakhs. First they catch the young female eagles, because the female eagles are larger than males and more loyal. They train the eagles and during the winter Kazakh eagle hunters hunt the foxes and hares, for their soft, thick fur.
